OPI Planks Alot + OPI Navy Shatter

Hidey Ho to all our lovely followers, Kourtney here...I am a little hyper at the moment so forgive the greeting LOL

Today I have for you OPI Planks Alot from the Pirates of the Caribbean collection and OPI Navy Shatter. I love this combination so much! First things first I used Seche Vite Base Coat because my nails do have some ridges and this does a great job at covering them up. I applied OPI's Planks Alot after the base coat dried. Planks Alot is a beautiful creamy purple that I am totally in love with. I was tempted to not even put the Navy Shatter on top. Two coats was enough for a beautiful application. See below:

See it's a beautiful bright and creamy purple and I will be using it over and over, maybe with some Konad designs. By the way this color and the OPI Sparrow Me the Drama from yesterday's post are both part of our giveaway if you haven't entered yet! Don't worry, they are new bottles, not the ones I used.

OK so I applied the Navy Shatter in different directions like I did with the OPI Red Shatter I posted yesterday. I like applying it this way because you get a totally different look. See the pictures below and fall in love with my awesome manicure haha

I think the navy just compliments the purple so well. It is really close to black though. I had to make sure I was mailing my friend Jamie the right color since I was sending her the OPI Black Shatter lol! So be careful not to mix them up! The Navy Shatter applied very well and shattered beautifully in my opinion. I followed it up with 2 coats of Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat to make the manicure last longer. I recommend this top coat to anyone I can because I love it so much. It's the best top coat I've ever used.

Have you purchased the Navy Shatter and if so what color did you use as the base coat? If you haven't picked up the Navy Shatter yet but wanted to what would you pair it with?? Any other comments leave below! Thanks and have a great Monday!

OPI Sparrow Me the Drama + OPI Red Shatter

Hey All! Kourtney here...

Before we get into it, YES this will be yet another post about the crazy crackle/shatter trend. Gabby and I will be doing a series of the new OPI Shatters. So look for a new post everyday with a different color shatter. I recently went to JCPenney Salon and picked up OPI's Red, Navy, Blue, and then the Turquoise (got that one one amazon!) I just had to have them because Gabby brought them over and I lusted after them LOL I almost took them from her. Anyways...

A while back I purchased the OPI Sparrow Me the Drama and OPI Planks Alot (Review for that to come in another post). I tried out the Sparrow Me the Drama  with the Red Shatter and liked it alot. The Sparrow Me the Drama has a creamy application and the brush of course is perfect. I used 2 coats which you can see here:

I then painted the Red Shatter in different directions on top to give it a different shatter effect. I followed all that up with Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat and I haven't had a chip yet and I'm going on 5 days now with the manicure. So check out the Red Shatter over Sparrow Me the Drama.

So overall I really like the Red Shatter. It shattered very well and the brush was just the right size to help cover the nail when painting. OPI is still the front runner for me as far as all the shatter/crackle's go. Have you picked any of the new Shatter's up? What other base color's do you think would look good with the Red Shatter? Let me know below! Thanks

China Glaze Limbo Bimbo

Hey Guys It's Gabbz...

I'm sorry I didn't post this when I usually do. This weekend/week was pretty hectic, and I just changed my nails Tues night/Wed morning. I even went to work with one hand finished and the other not. I knew I wanted to take a sunlight picture of the polish before I put any image on it, and of course I would wake up extra early the next day to do so and finish my mani... WRONG lol I took the pictures right as I was heading out and didn't have time to stamp my nails. The good thing is for once, no one noticed my nails, well one person did but I showed her the finished look lol So, I got home, stamped my nails and started on this post :)

Any who, I was reading a blog post a couple weeks ago and she did a cute mani and I wanted to recreate it. It was a really pretty pink polish with a design over it using an image plate from Bundle Monster. After two failed attempts, I gave up. It just didn't come out the way I wanted it to :( I'm determined to keep trying and someday I'll post it.

So, since I wanted to recreate that particular look, I went searching for a polish that was similar to the one that was used. While looking through the racks, I fell in love with this color. The one that caught my eye was China Glaze Limbo Bimbo. It is a really pretty fuchsia pink. It's very bright and frosty with tiny finely milled pink shimmer. Again, I love this color!!

2 coats of Limbo Bimbo and 1 coat
Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat

In the 2 pics above, I shot inside with flash. You can see that this polish
has a purple hue to it. I couldn't tell until I saw the pics lol

Limbo Bimbo in the sun
I guess it's just me lol Because you can see the purple hue in these pictures as well,
more so on the one below...

Of course I was determined to put a design over this polish. I went with something that would cover the whole nail. I used the image plates from Bundle Monster, it's BM21 I don't have the special stamping polish but I find that using some regular polishes still works fine. To stamp the image I used a regular black polish, sorry don't know the name or brand of it. Then I topped it off with 1 coat of Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat.

Hope you like this look. Have you tried Bundle Monster before? If so, what is your favorite design? Do you have any tips or tricks to get the images to come out flawless on the nail? Leave your comments below :)

Sally Hansen Crackle - Review

Hey all Kourtney here!

So I just have to tell everyone what I think about Sally Hansen's crackles. I recently picked up their crackle in Distressed Denim and Vintage Violet. I was so excited to get these because I'm obsessed with crackle polish and I usually like Sally Hansen products.

Unfortunately I was very disappointed in these. First of all it was really thin and watery to the point I had to dip the brush back in the bottle twice to cover one nail. The brush was so skinny and small too. I wish it had the brush that you get with Sally Hansen's Insta-dry polish because that brush is fantastic!

Now the weird thing is on some base colors it cracked so well but on majority of the polish's that I tested on my nail wheel just didn't work out. I tried the Distressed Denim on top of OPI's Designer Series in Radiance. Like I said on some nails it cracked perfectly and on others it barely cracked. So onto the pictures.

Here is the crackles I purchased at Walgreens

Here is the Distressed Denim over OPI Radiance
See how it crackled well on a few nails and then barely on the other?

Here I tried a Patriotic look with Zoya's Sooki, Loreal White and Distressed Denim
I like how it crackle on here...

With the Distressed Denim I used Hard Candy Sky and with the Vintage Violet I used my Loreal White polish. But the one on the farthest right you can barely see the crackle and I believe it's because the consistency of the polish is so thin.

Lastly I used my Sally Hansen Insta-dry inLightening which I love! It crackle pretty well on this color.

Ok so there you have it. I still love most of Sally Hansen products. Especially their polish strips. But I think they need to change the brush and the formula on this because I believe it could be great. Have you used them and what kind of results did you get? I'd love to know!

*These were purchased by me and this review is my honest opinion.
